Black Friday

So I spent Black Friday at the park with Lacy & the kids. Swings..slides...baseball..and hide-n-go-seek!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well of course Juan had to work on Thanksgiving Day..he's worked every Thanksgiving for the past 4 years! So we waited until he got home to eat our dinner. My mom came over really early in the morning & we took off to hangout at my brother Matthew's house for awhile. We left his house around 1 o'clock and then headed off to Ralphs for some last minute stuff. We rented some movies from the RedBox (so much cheaper than Blockbuster or On Demand!!) Imagine That, Madagascar 2, & Sonic the Hedgehog. We got home about 2:00 and was ready to put the turkey in the oven!! It smelled so good! Dominic & Elijah got to our house around 6:00..we set the table..carved the turkey and was ready to eat when Juan walked through the door! Dinner was so good!

Love is...

So I just wanted to take a minute and show my apreciation and love for my husband. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our busy schedules that we don't ever take time out to say the simple things that mean so much. I apreciate all the little things that Juan does for me..like leave me thank you/love you notes on the counter in the morning when he leaves for work, or the text messages that he sends me from work every morning telling me "good morning I love you". It's those moments that I treasure and mean so much to me! He has always been there for me and has been my rock to lean on when in need. Even though sometimes I say he drives me crazy with his antics..thats the one thing that I love most about him..there's never a dull moment. From kayaks..to bow & arrows..dirt bikes..to oakleys..mountain bikes..to road bikes..I LOVE HIM THE SAME!!

Arts & crafts with the girls!

Saturday November 7 I got to spend the afternoon with the girls..Jennifer & Maritza (hi girls!) We went to a vinyl design workshop. We had such a fun time painting and sticking!  It was really nice to have a quiet adult day away from the kids. Usually us girls meet for dinner on a Friday night and chit chat about our hubbys or soon-to-be hubby for Maritza. It was a nice change to our girl time. We loved it so much we got Anya to throw a monthly workshop! I really do appreciate the girls..it's not easy being married to a Sheriff! We can all agree on that one!

If anyone is interested in joining us next month check out Anya's website anyagilbertholidaysandspecials.blogspot.com

Raingutter Regatta

On October 24 Andrew had his first ever Boyscouts Raingutter Reggata! For those of you who aren't familiar with what that is..the boys make their own boats out of wood and they race their boats in raingutters. Andrew was so excited to make his boat! We all worked on it together as a family adding our special Silva touch to it!

It was a double elimination competition and Andrew lost both heats. He was very close to winning the first heat but ran out of breathe towards the end.

He was a little disappointed that he lost, but they were all winners in the end! He won The Best Pirate Sail Award!

My Birthday!

My day started off with the kids running into my room screaming "Happy Birthday" and showering me with kisses & hugs & my present (a pair of Coach shoes). We ate a quick breakfast and then off to Disneyland! We had such a nice day! I got to pick where to eat lunch at, we ate at my favorite restaurant Rancho del Zocalo in Frontier land. Mmm! We all got presents for my birthday, Andrew got to make a double bladed light-saber,

& Michael got a pack of Star Wars mini figurines. Emma didnt get anything this time because I searched high & low for a Snow White beanie baby doll for her. apparently they don't make them that small..so I'll just have to buy the big one next time! But she did enjoy trying on Minnie's ears...

I used my Birthday Fun card to buy a Mickey Mouse 55th sherpa sweater. We ran into Mickey Mouse (one of Emma's fav's)

and Donald Duck..

and Alice & the Mad Hatter

I always enjoy taking a family pic infront of Sleeping Beauty's castle!

One of the best birthdays ever!

October 2009

So what have the Silva's been up to? October was kinda a busy month for us. We had 3 Halloween parties to dress up for and attend. First it was a little frustrating trying to get the boys to decide on costumes. I really wanted them to be Mario & Luigi..but of course they had other plans. Andrew wanted to be anything from Star Wars..again..3rd year in a row. Michael..well thats another story. He wanted to be EVERYTHING! Wolverine, Spiderman, Harry Potter, Peter Pan..you name it he wanted to be it! So we finally decided on Darth Vader for Andrew and Peter Pan for Michael. Emma's costume was a no brainer..Snow White! And boy did she love to wear that costume!! She still wants to dress up in it everytime she sees it hanging in her closet!

Decorating pumpkins was so much fun! I don't carve pumpkins anymore because it gets too messy and the kids don't get to do it themselves. I buy the foam stickers and let them stick away!

The Clayton Annual Halloween Party was so much fun! We played tons of games & made cute projects! The kids had a blast Trick-or-Treating from door to door INSIDE cousin Penny & Jerry's house! Thanks to all the daddies that put the haunted house together..I heard it was a scream!

Off to Sara's 5th Birthday party (yes the very next day).
Andrew & Michael had a Halloween parade at school.

Halloween night was an adventure! We had a group of 13 kids trick-or-treating! ALL the kids got tons of candy & we even got to go into a haunted house! I think DaNay & I were the most scared out of everyone! We came back to our house and sang Happy Birthday to Alanna & I.

So by this time I was ready to put away all the costumes and get ready for November!
